Scientific knowledge has played a central role in public discourse and politics during the corona crisis. How does the media handle situations where scientists disagree when scientific arguments are as a black box that is hard to transmit to the general public? I study comparatively the politicization of science in corona news in Finnish, Swedish and Japanese media. I also compare the treatment of the black box of expert knowledge in corona and economics related news in Finnish media.
