COVID-19 voices in Finnish news media in the global context
COVID-19 voices in Finnish news media in the global context: A comparative study of news media’s roles in pandemic communications and public perceptions across five countries
University of Jyväskylä, Professor Chiara Valentini
This project studies the roles of news media performed in COVID-19 crisis communication and how these roles influenced the media’s treatment of different and marginalized voices involved in the pandemic. Furthermore, the project aims to assess citizens’ perceptions of COVID-19 related information, including their trust in the crisis narratives. The project is bench-marked with similar projects in four other countries, thus offering a global perspective on Finnish news media performance.
